Third Annual Inside Passage Seminar

On March 18 and 19, 2006, Don and Réanne Douglass hosted the 3rd Annual Inside Passage Seminar in Anacortes to a record attendance of 75. Ten experts shared their intimate local knowledge of British Columbia and Southeast Alaska with the attendees who came from seven states and British Columbia. Boat sizes of participants represented ranged from 22 ft. go-fast speedboats to 90 ft. yachts. Several boaters were among those joining the 2006 Grand Banks Inside Passage Expedition to Ketchikan, as well as Byron Pemberton’s NW Explorations' Mother Goose escorted expeditions to the remote outer coast of Southeast Alaska.

The consensus of attendees was that the 3rd Annual Seminar was the most important and successful of all the West Coast seminars this season. Two couples who attended previous Inside Passage Seminars reported they picked up enough news and updates to make it more than worthwhile.

Two couples have already signed up for next year's seminar, so put March 17-18, 2007 on your calendar and plan to take part in the Northwest’s extraordinary pre-season Inside Passage Seminar. Once again, come and spend a weekend with a cream-of-the-crop group of Inside Passage experts!.

For the past 18 years, they have explored the west coast of North America, documenting over 6,000 places to anchor or tie up from the Mexican border to the Alaska Peninsula. Linda and her husband, Dave Parker, cruise the Inside Passage for three months in the summer on their 45’ trawler (seven times). They trade the role of Captain each year, sharing all docking, navigation, and boat handling on a 50-50 basis. Linda speaks at numerous boat shows and seminars and is the former leader of the Pacific NW Chapter of Women Aboard. Her newest interest is in providing on-the-water training for women on powerboats.
